i saw the otologist today and got the putrid packing removed from my ear. Said ear is healing "beautifully" and I can now do whatever I want, as long as the ear stays dry.

I hate to state the obvious, but (on doctor's orders) Dulc and I will not be participating in the wet t-shirt contests tonight.

What exactly was your ear malfunction?

T'was not an ear malfunction at all. The Dx was ideopathic chronic osteomyelitis. I had a partial mastoidectomy -- so you all can accurately say that I now have hole in my head.

I still have limited hearing in the right ear and I'll be the first to say that I have a Dumbo ear. Anyone who makes fun of me will be shot on sight.

I want to bring a covered dish also to contribute. What sort of food is not already covered? I have a very nice cheesy potato casserole recipe, very 1960 June Cleaverish. It even has optional crushed cornflake topping, which I have never optioned. Or I could do a dessert, except I think that SOMEONE still has my springform pan.
